Been working on a mini-guide concerning the best flow structure (+ security) for a jail in Prison Architect. Just testing the waters, but this game is really challenging.
The current style actually was inspired by the latest Hunger Games. The path that the prisoners take from waking up rotates clockwise according to the schedule. Shower -> Eat -> Work -> Freetime -> Yard -> Shower -> Eat -> Sleep.
The big problem is the AI pathing, which I have yet to figure out. In most cases, the long hallways are a huge deterrent and staff tend to go all whistlin’ dixie outside. Then again, I’m not sure how to not use big hallways like these without sacrificing the safety measures (the big rule on having all the cells in the middle so it’s harder for them to tunnel out).
Anyway, I hope to make a video on this soon. I miss doing guides and I want to make some for the games that a lot of people bought through Steam sales. Not a bad idea, I hope!
(I think it’s still on sale at a few sites even after Cyber Monday, so get it if you can. Reminder though: it’s in Alpha. Pretty damn good for an Alpha, though.)
