Adding schematics via cheat engine in DA:I

tevintter:

A little how to!

This tutorial assumes you know the basics of cheat engine & using it with dragon age inquisition.

Firstly a huge note about adding schematics - only ever change like for like. Don’t replace a weapon schematic with an armor schematic or it’ll crash your game.

Basics - Load DA3, then load the cheat engine (And make sure you have the most up to date cheat table file that you load into cheat engine!)

Step one : Find the nearest schematic seller -

Step two : Open the store and browse to the armor schematic tab -

image

Step three : Alt tab out of your game and find your cheat engine window. Click the little button next to “Shop item editor” so it has a little cross through the square. all ??’s are normal at this point -

Step four : Alt tab back to your game and purchase the schematic that you’re going to swap to your new one. I’m purchasing the Light Adventurer armor schematic (You can choose what you want dependent on what schematic you want to add) -

Step five : Once you’ve clicked buy, alt tab back out of your game (DO NOT LEAVE THE SHOP IN GAME, STAY IN THE SHOP!) and find your cheat engine window again. It’ll now have changed, the file type will have the code name of the schematic you just purchase along with its cost and other such things -

Step six : Go to THIS BIG PASTE BIN FILE OF ALL THE CODES to find the schematic that you want in game. There is a lot of stuff in this list I know. For reference anything that starts with “DA3/Equipment/Crafting/Recipes/Armors/” is an armor schematic. Now my own personal preference is to replace 1 piece armor schematics with other 1 piece armor schematics, and to replace armors that you can add to (So adding legs and arms) with other schematics that you can add to. For example - I’m replacing the Light Adventurer Armor (A 1 piece armor set) with the Dalish Light Armor (another 1 piece armor set). If I wanted to add a tier 3 prowler chest then I’d probably chose the “sturdy scout coat” which can be seen in that screenshot, as that’s a tier 1 chest schematic. You just need to play around with what works, my game can go weird if I don’t keep everything as neat swaps but it may work for you. Just do not, under any circumstances, replace a weapon schematic with an armor schematic. (Note : I also do the same when replacing weapon schematics - If i want to add in a staff then I replace an old staff schematic. Just fwiw) -

Step seven : Once you have your code copied onto your clipboard, find your cheat engine window and click the “change” square. You’ll get a “change item type” pop up box -

image

Step eight : Paste your new item code that you found on the paste bin list into the “change item type” box -

image

Step nine : Click change, and if it works you’ll receive a notification that it’s changing the item base codes -

image

Step ten : Click the “Item count” square that is below “Change/Item cost” so it has a cross through it and then double click on “0” and change it to “1” -

image

Step eleven : Alt tab back to your game (Keeping cheat engine open) and exit the store that you left your character in.

Step twelve : Click the store again and you should find your new schematic in the armor (or weapon, depending on what you’ve added) section where the old one was and ready to be purchased -

Step thirteen - Rinse and repeat.

Notes - This can be buggy. Sometimes cheat engine doesn’t populate the values, sometimes replacing a schematic doesn’t play nice, always save before going into the store the first time and re-load / exit and re-boot the game if something goes wrong.
